The story behind Sing & Swing Hi there! Nice to meet you. I’m Stephanie, a TESOL-certified English teacher with a music degree and background in Early Childhood Education. In January 2018, I left the Netherlands and moved to Valencia to pursue my dream. Not long after, Sing & Swing was born — a unique, holistic method inspired by the Reggio Emilia and Montessori philosophies. However, it's mostly shaped by my own creative touch and years of professional experience in music, English teaching and Early Childhood Education. Music is the universal language that connects us all, supports our overall development and makes learning English fun — without overwhelming your busy day! |
How Sing & Swing was born I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember — quite literally, I sang before I talked! From a young age, I realized how music can connect, inspire, and educate. I pursued my passion, graduating as a singer, and later combined it with my growing love for Early Childhood Education. I started teaching my own music and movement classes in schools, daycares, and community centers — you name it! I loved doing my own thing and working with so many different kids. That’s when I knew I wanted to dive deeper, so I took the plunge and studied Early Childhood Education. But my gut was telling me it was time for a change. In 2018, I followed my intuition, quit everything, and moved to Valencia. After a few months, my creative heart started yearning for more. I missed crafting my own classes, and I knew I wanted to create something special for little ones — something that brought together everything I’d learned over the years: music, dance, English teaching, and Early Childhood Education. In March 2018, just two months after my Valencian adventure began, I took a leap of faith and brought Sing & Swing to life. After all, I like to think outside the box and always felt like the typical educational systems didn’t work well for me. Yet here I am, speaking English fluently! |
Empowering little learners When I introduced Sing & Swing, I knew it was more than just classes — it was about creating a supportive, inclusive space where kids could grow. Watching a community of amazing young families flourish has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey, and I’m so grateful for the positive feedback I’ve received. I like to think of myself as an advocate for children. My mission is to help little ones develop into emotionally healthy, confident, and expressive individuals — at their own pace, and in a way that feels joyful and natural. As someone who has learned multiple languages, I know the value of the right environment for picking up new skills. With the right approach, I believe anyone can become fluent in any language! If group classes aren’t the right fit for you, my personalized private lessons (Sing & Sparkle) could be perfect for you. I also bring Sing & Swing to daycares and schools, and have launched an online program designed for busy parents, caregivers, teachers, and school directors. Whether you’re in Spain or anywhere else, let’s connect and see how my programs can support your educational goals. I’m not just a teacher; I’m your child’s background singer, learning buddy, and biggest fan — here to support your little one's heart, body and mind. |
